Interfaith Youth Core to visit Central College

Wednesday, Jan. 21, and Thursday, Jan. 22, Interfaith Youth Core will visit Central College. Interfaith Youth Core is the center of a larger movement to promote religious pluralism. Trainer Noah Silverman will lead three workshops on campus that are free and open to the public. Contact Sarah Lunsford at 641-628-5656, or e-mail lunsfords@central.edu for more information.

Silverman graduated with a bachelor’s degree in religious studies and international relations from Connecticut College, where he wrote his undergraduate thesis on interreligious peace building in Israel/Palestine. He has worked for the World Conference of Religions for Peace at the United Nations, the Interfaith Encounter Association in Jerusalem, and the Council for a Parliament of the World’s Religions in Chicago, Ill., including staffing the 2004 Parliament of the World’s Religions in Barcelona, Spain. A Chicago native, Silverman grew up attending K.A.M. Isaiah Israel congregation in the south side neighborhood of Hyde Park.
