Kathy Cashen Thompson hired as director of the Central Fund at Central College

Kathy Cashen Thompson, a 1987 Central College graduate, joins Central College’s advancement office as director of the Central Fund. Her duties begin Tuesday, Sept. 2.

Thompson, who worked in the Central College admission office from 1987-99, most recently served as director for both admission and alumni relations at Northwest State Community College in Archbold, Ohio.

“It’s wonderful to have Kathy on our staff,” said Dave Sutphen, vice president of advancement. “She has a passion for Central and truly knows this college. Kathy will be able to extend Central’s annual fund success.”

“When I left Central almost 10 years ago, I didn’t think there would be another opportunity for me to rejoin the best team I have ever worked with, so I consider the opportunity to direct the annual fund a dream come true,” said Thompson. “The beauty of the Central fund is participation is just as important as the amount given, and my hope is we can continue to increase both.”

Each year, more than $1 million is raised through annual gifts that support the operations of Central College.
