Moscow Nights dinner at Central College Oct. 8

Central College will host Moscow Nights, a Russian-themed dinner, Wednesday, Oct. 8, in Graham Conference Center. Dinner is served at 5:30 p.m. Tickets are $15 per person, $5 for children ages 6-10 and students with a Central College ID. Children ages 5 and under are free. Central College faculty member Elena Vishnevskaya, assistant professor of religion, planned a delicious menu of Russian food. Vishnevskaya will announce the menu which includes appetizers baklazhannaya ikra (eggplant caviar), pirozhki s gribnoi nachinkoi (mushroom-filled pastries), farshirovannye yaitsa (stuffed eggs) served with Russian black bread and crackers. The main entrees are golubtsy (cabbage rolls) and kulebyaka (salmon in puff pastry). Side dishes are vinegret (beet vinaigrette), kartofelnaya zapekanka (mashed potato casserole) and ogurtsy v smetane (cucumbers in sour cream). Klyukvennyi kisel (warm cranberry pudding) and vatrushki (cheese tartlets) will be served for dessert.
