Kirk Johnson, of the Smithsonian Institution National Museum of Natural History in Washington, is pictured with the museum's current exhibition of dinosaurs. On the right is the cast of a Tyrannosaurus rex. The Smithsonian is acquiring and will exhibit the real bones of a Tyrannosaurus rex on a 50-year loan from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.
