Bomb Threat made at PHS

Pella — At approximately 1:30 pm on Tuesday, March 26, 2013 the Pella Police Department received a report of a Facebook posting referencing a bomb threat at Pella Community High School.  

Pella Police Department investigated and charged a 16 year old female Pella High student with the delinquent act of threat of arson, by threatening to place an incendiary or explosive device in a place where it would endanger persons.  The charge is a class D felony.  The juvenile was transported to the Central Iowa Juvenile Detention Center in Eldora, IA.

School administration will meet today (Wednesday) to determine the appropriate disciplinary actions to be taken with regard to the student.

With any criminal case, a charge is merely an accusation and a defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
