New Assistant County Attorney Hired

Knoxville —  

 
The Marion County Attorney’s Office is pleased to announce the addition of Benjamin Hayek as Assistant County Attorney. Hayek is a graduate of the University of Iowa’s College of Liberal Arts, Graduate College, and College of Law, and is licensed to practice law in the states of Iowa and Minnesota. He most recently served as the City Attorney for the cities of Hills and Solon, and currently serves in the Iowa National Guard as Deputy Staff Judge Advocate, 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 34th  Infantry Division. 
 
Hayek currently lives in Iowa City.  He will serve the citizens of Marion County by serving as a Civil Litigation Attorney for the County as well  as a prosecutor of Simple Misdemeanor crimes. Hayek’s first day will be July 16, 2012. 
 
Marion County Attorney Ed Bull commented: “We are thrilled with the addition of Ben to our team.  His vast experiences including serving as City Attorney for a number of communities made him a perfect fit for our needs.  I wish to thank the Board of Supervisors for the opportunity to add an additional attorney for my office.  I believe we will be more effective and efficient as a result of this hire.”
