Chamber warns of scam

Pella — The Chamber would like to make you aware of a scam in the Pella area originally reported by one of our members and verified by the Pella Police Department.  Our member received a call from someone claiming to be with the "Pella Municipal Power & Light Company" (this is NOT associated with the City of Pella) stating if payment was not made for an amount overdue, power would be shut off within a matter of hours.  This IS a scam and you should not transfer any money to this person/company.  The known call was made to a business line, however residents could be targeted.  Please help protect your family and friends by forwarding this information.

Should you have any questions about your city bill, please contact the City of Pella at 641-628-4173.  If you receive a call from the fictitious company please call the Pella Police Department at 641-628-4921.
