---- — According to a recent press release, Titan Machinery has right sized itself to stay ahead of the slow recovery in the construction economy and position the company for future growth.

The stores that have closed or consolidated include one located in Oskaloosa.

A total of 12 of the 17 positions from the Oskaloosa store have been moved to Titan Machinery – Pella.

Ed Lapthorn, Pella Store Manager, told The Chronicle the consolidation supports Titan Machinery’s long-term plan of having one state-of-the-art store in Pella to better serve customers in south central and south east Iowa.

Lapthorn also shared that the Titan Machinery - Pella store is large enough to handle the additional service, parts, and sales staff and equipment inventory to support customers. The store offers a complete line of Case IH equipment. The consolidation was completed April 25.

“We are confident the realignment we are implementing during the first quarter of fiscal 2015 will position our construction segment for improved pre-tax profits and enable us to better serve our construction and rental customer base going forward,” said David Meyer, CEO, in a press release. “While we are not satisfied with the recent overall performance of our construction business, the changes we are making will enhance the overall performance of this segment.”

Local customers with questions are asked to contact Lapthorn, at (641) 628-2131.
