Body found in downtown Ottumwa

OTTUMWA — The Ottumwa Police Department is conducting a death investigation after finding the body of an elderly male in the 600 block of East Main Street Thursday morning.

The department received report of the body around 7:20 a.m. Thursday.

Sgt. Steve Kovacs said they are not releasing his name yet, pending notification of family.

No foul play is suspected, Kovacs said.
