ISA’s online “Soybean Brief” timely updates provides a dependable reporting resource

The Chronicle

Pella — The Iowa Soybean Association is offering a new online resource to assist you in reporting on this year’s soybean harvest and other issues concerning Iowa soybean farmers.

The Iowa Soybean Association’s “The Soybean Brief” is updated regularly and found online at www.iasoybeans.com/whatnew/SoybeanPlantingBrief021013.pdf. You can also go directly to the ISA website (www.iasoybeans.com) and click on the link to the brief.  Coming soon, the site will feature a state map providing real-time harvest results.

This week, ISA Senior Writer Matt Wilde offers a story, interviewing soybean farmers from around the state, about early harvest results that discuss moisture, yields and progress. Media outlets are welcome to use this story and the statistics available at the site in their outlets.  (This story is included at the end of this advisory.) Photos from this year’s harvest are also available. Please contact Heather Lilienthal, ISA Communications Manager (information included above) for options.

In addition, The Bean Blog offers stories and photos about Iowa Soybean Association members/farmers throughout the year. Recent topics include international visitors to Iowa farms, a video of ISA Past-President Mark Jackson of Rose Hill harvesting his soybean fields, Central Iowa farmers “diving” into aquaculture and aerial seeding for cover crops. The blog is managed by ISA Member Communications Manager Joe Murphy. Please contact the association if you are interested in access and/or permission to use these photos.
