Indication of community interest needed

Pella competes to become Blue Zones Demonstration Community

Pella — Pella is competing to become a Blue Zones Demonstration Community. Is it your desire to have Pella be a healthier place for people to live, learn, work and play? If we are selected as a Blue Zones Demonstration Community, Pella will serve as a model for other Iowa communities on how to change our environment – at home, work, school and community – to make healthy choices easy for our residents and visitors. If selected, Pella will receive financial support for people, training and projects from Wellmark to implement healthy change into our community.

They need your help to gather information on possible initiatives for Pella to undertake if selected by the Blue Zones Project. Information on potential initiatives is listed in the survey. Please indicate your interest in each initiative. This survey is no guarantee that these initiatives will be completed but they do think it would be useful to gauge the level of community interest in various programs. To take the survey, click on:

If you have any questions or would like to assist with the Blue Zones application, please contact Cyndi Atkins, public relations manager, at Pella Regional Health Center at PellaBlueZone@pellahealth.org or call 641-621-2290.
