Ouder en Wijzer (Older & Wiser)

(Continued)

Pella — 1 Peter 5: 7, 10: Give all your worries and cares to God, for he cares about what happens to you.

In his kindness God called you to his eternal glory by means of Jesus Christ. After you have suffered a little while, he will restore, support, and strengthen you, and he will place you on a firm foundation.

My favorite part is the phrase from verse 10 “after you have suffered a little while”.  I love the temporary flavor of this passage.  We will not suffer forever, there is always hope for the believer in Jesus Christ. He is the lifter of our heads!  All we have to do is cast our worries and cares on Him, knowing that He cares for us, more than we could ever know.  How can we worry, if we believe this!

So, when worry begins to overwhelm you, trust God and take Him at His word.  Claim the promise of a “little while”, knowing that in the end, there will be victory and peace.  Take heart, my friends, God knows your heat ache.  Now, cast it at His feet and find encouragement!
