IAFP Seeking Nominations for 2012 Family Physician of the Year Award

The Chronicle

Pella — Is your family physician the best of the best? Does your physician go above and beyond in caring for their patients? Are they active in the community?  Do you think they deserve the 2012 Family Physician of the Year Award?  If so, we want to hear from you!

The Iowa Academy of Family Physicians (IAFP) is seeking nominations for the 2012 Family Physician of the Year.  Each year the IAFP selects a “Family Physician of the Year” on the basis of outstanding service to patients, the community, and devotion to Family Medicine.

If you would like to nominate your family physician, please send letters of support to the Iowa Academy describing why your family physician should receive the Family Physician of the Year Award.   To be eligible for the award the physician must be a “family physician” and an active member of the IAFP.

Nomination letters should be sent by August 20, 2012 to the Iowa Academy of Family Physicians, 100 E. Grand Ave., Ste.170, Des Moines, IA 50309 or emailed to

The 2012 Iowa Family Physician of Year will be honored during the IAFP Annual Installation and Awards Banquet on Nov. 2, 2012, at the downtown Des Moines Marriott. In the early part of 2013, the 2012 Iowa Family Physician of the Year will be nominated for the American Academy of Family Physicians National Family Physician of Year.
