Recent Accomplishments at Pella Regional Health Center

Pella — The following Pella Regional Health Center employees have recently gained professional certifications or scholarships in their area of expertise. They join a growing list of employees at Pella Regional who have increased their knowledge to improve the care of patients.

Laura Beyer, RN, BSN, Dialysis, was selected for the 2011 National Renal Administrators Association (NRAA) Maureen Michael Scholarship. Beyer was nominated by Board member/Advocacy Chair Marc Chow in recognition of her involvement in the Advocacy Committee and her desire to learn more about how to affect change for the dialysis industry. The scholarship covers the NRAA national conference participation in New Orleans, LA.

Jen Everly, CNA, Dialysis, received her certified hemodialysis technologist/technician. The certification exam covers five major areas—patient care, machine technology, water treatment, dialyzer reprocessing, education/personal development—of practice and tasks performed in the scope of hemodialysis technology.

Christa Gibbs, Medical Imaging, recently received her Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographers (RDCS). Her other registries include Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer and Registered Vascular Technologist. There is a small percentage of sonographers that are tripled registered, and Pella Regional now has three.

Leisha Huyser, RN, Dialysis, received her certified dialysis nurse (CDN). This certification promotes patient safety and improves the quality of care provided to dialysis patients.

Leann Nunnikhoven, RN, Infusion Center, received her Certified Registered Nurse Infusion (CRNI). This certification promotes optimal health outcomes and the practice of a comprehensive, evidence-based infusion program.
