Pella — To the editor,

What an evening Friday, February 24 was! Both great music and desserts were featured at the Pella Opera House. Habitat for Humanity Marion County, Inc [HFHMCI] celebrated a special calendar year 2011. Five HFHMCI Partner Families purchased new homes and our first RE-DO of an existing home was purchased by a sixth Partner Family.

HOME SWEET HOME was our theme for this Benefit concert. All proceeds from over 185 people attending benefit our Marion County Habitat affiliate. Our Board and Community Development Committee pulled the evening together wonderfully. The concert’s capable leaders were Nancy Henry, Kyle Punt, and Jason Braithewaite. Musicians Jake Rietveld - Knoxville [great-grandson of Pella Opera House Founder Robert Rietveld]; Sydney Lett - Des Moines; Elvis [Alan Robuck] – Knoxville; and Charlie Koopman Band – Pella, graciously donated their talents.

Our many volunteers work for God and partner with people to build affordable homes, provide hope, and develop community. We humbly thank ALL who support HFHMCI in so many ways!

Park Woodle, HFHMCI Board President and Board members
