Double D Ranch adds more services to its Therapeutic Riding Program

Consider a horse-drawn carriage ride down memory road for a senior citizen or the freedom to enjoy a wagon ride for a handicapped individual. This is what Double D Ranch, owners Darrell and Deanna Van Hall, along with Double D Ranch Foundation, officers Lana Pol, Kris Van Maanen, and Verlan Van Dyke, are wanting to offer the community. We have purchased an Amish built-solid oak covered wagon and team of horses and plan to add a wheelchair lift to the back of the wagon, making it accessible to anyone. Double D Ranch Foundation would like to extend a “Thank you” to the Pella Foundation, VerMeer Foundation, Precious Pulley, DeVries Electric, Brackin Land Improvement and Marion County Bank for their generous contributions to this project. Watch for them around town and in the July 4th parade.

Double D Ranch has also added a petting zoo to the ranch. Wander around the sidewalk and watch the animals interact with you and each other. Lambs, goats, miniature horses and new colt, a lama, a pot bellied pig are some of the animals that you will enjoy.

Double D Ranch offers equine assisted activities to those who are physically or mentally handicapped in any way.

Double D Ranch is located two miles west of Pella on Hwy G28. Turn N into Hunter’s Ridge Development, take the 1st Left and follow to Double D Ranch.
