Supervisors hold short meeting on Monday

By Clint Brown
The Chronicle

The Marion County Board of Supervisors wasted little time working through their business during Monday’s meeting. The board approved a pair of resolutions. The first resolution approved the annual Marion County Departmental appropriation of monies as budgeted for the fiscal year 2009-10. The second resolution approved was regarding adjusting the Marion County Mileage Reimbursement rate for $.45. In the past the board has reviewed the rate annually. The board’s ongoing practice is to set the rate at $.10 under the deferred rate ($.55 currently).

In other business:

-The board approved a Class C Beer Permit renewal with Sunday Sales for Terry Rae Hoch, dba Wackos.

-The board approved the permit request from Gateway Community Church, Monroe, for a fireworks display to be held July 5, on the farm of Danny Van Wyk located one mile north of the Mile Long Bridge on Hwy. 14. The permit was approved based on insurance documentation being filed at the Auditor’s Office by July 2. As of Monday, the insurance documentation had not been filed.

-The board approved the FY 09-10 Marion County Secondary Road Payroll Policy. This policy, which is reviewed annually, deals with wage scale, employee positions and rates and includes longevity pay information. The rates were based off the approved budget from this spring.
