December 19-21 and 23 Festive Whimsy and Fine Art

This is the 2nd Annual Holiday Event! Come enjoy the sights, sounds and tastes of the season while shopping for the perfect gift of art by local artists. Hours are 10 am - 8 pm both Thursday and Friday, and then 10 am  to 5 pm Saturday and 10 am to 8 pm Monday. Parking off alley behind Strawtown Inn.





December 19 Registration Begins for Pella Aquatic Center Winter Programs

Interested in winter swimming programs for you or your family? Registration begins at 5:45 am at the Aquatic Center and are available on a first-come basis. Lessons and classes will begin the week of January 7. Please see www.cityofpella.com or call 641-628-1882 for more information.





December 20 Young Professionals of Pella's Ugly Christmas Sweater Bowling Party

Enjoy pizza, pop and bowling while rocking your most fabulously festive holiday sweater. Anyone in their 20's or 30's that lives or works in the Pella area is invited! From 7-9 pm at Pella Excite-A-Bowl, free. Donations accepted for Teen Challenge (toiletry items, canned goods, winter apparel).

December 25 Free Christmas Meal at Excite-A-Bowl

Third Church welcomes the community to a free Christmas meal at Excite-A-Bowl in Pella. Continuous serving on a stop-by basis between 11am and 12:30pm. An RSVP is requested to Bob and Pat Deur at pellachristmas@gmail.com or 641-416-0052.





December 30 Work Systems Fitness & Rehab Men's Basketball League Registration Deadline

Sign up by December 30 for Men's Basketball League at Work Systems Rehab & Fitness! Games will  be Wednesday nights starting January 45 through March. Contact Darren at darrenm@worksystemspc.com or phone 641-780-6421.





December 30- January 3 City of Pella Christmas Tree Pickup

Christmas trees will be picked up on regular garbage days from December 30th through January 3rd. Two additional days for pick up will be offered on January 8th and 15th. Trees must be placed at the curb by 7:00am on pick up day. All trees must be able to go through the chipper which means they must be unwrapped, free from plastic bags, wire, nails and stands. Trees that do not meet these requirements WILL NOT be picked up. Christmas wreaths and roping with wire will be collected as normal household waste if placed within a closed tote. Please contact the Pella Public Works Department at 628-1601 for more information.





December 31 Pella Opera House's New Years Eve Party!

This is a party you will not want to miss! Each guest will enjoy live music provided by the Fred Gazzo Band, dancing, two complimentary beverages, a cash bar, appetizers and sumptuous desserts, party favors, and a countdown to midnight followed by Auld Lang Syne! 8 pm at the Pella Opera House, $30/ ticket.
