Marching Dutch hosts competition

Pella — The Pella Community High School Marching Dutch will host its 2nd annual marching band competition “The Marching Dutch Invitational” on Saturday, September 24th at the Pella High School Football Stadium.  Ten of the area’s best high school marching bands will compete for top honors in four classes.  The Marching Dutch will also provide a special exhibition performance of their 2011 fall program  “Stained Glass”.

Participating schools include:  North Mahaska, Cardinal Schools from Eldon, IA, Eddyville-Blakesburg, Carlise, South Tama, Winterset, Oskaloosa, Newton, Dowling Catholic, and Pella.

The competition will start at 6:30 p.m. with gates open to the general public starting at 5:30 p.m.  Cost for the event is: $5 – Adults, $2 – Students, Children 5 and under are free.
