Knoxville — The Marion County Board of Supervisors have on their agenda for Tuesday, July 8, several issues, including a proposal from the City of Pleasantville for its memorial hall.
Marion County currently owns the Pleasantville Memorial Hall. In recent years, local volunteers have raised money, and performed a great deal of the work, to make improvements to the building. The City of Pleasantville has also passed a local tax, with the proceeds being used for the Memorial Hall. The city council tendered an offer to the County for the building, which the supervisors are expected to discuss.
The board is also expected to get an update regarding the transistion from Community Care to Tenco Industries. Tenco took over the day to day operations of the Marion County Care Facility earlier this year, after Community Care ran into financial and legal trouble. Tenco was awarded the contract to run the County-owned facility over Pella's Christian Opportunity Center.
The board meets at 9 a.m., in the board room, on the first floor of the courthouse. The meeting is open to the public. The full agenda is below.
