Hearthstone names Director of Health Services at The Cottages

Hearthstone, a Ministry of WesleyLife is excited to announce Nancy VanWyk, RN, RAC-CT, CDP; as Director of Health Services at The Cottages–an innovative healthy living community for older adults.

In her position, VanWyk oversees the clinical aspect of services provided within the community, which is built on a strong household model approach to long-term nursing services.

The Cottages encourages residents to feel as though they are in a traditional home with a cozy living room and family-style dining area in each cottage. Located near common living areas, residents have private rooms with private baths which promote independence and social engagement with a special focus on individual well-being through spirit, mind and body. Team member roles are blended among being a caregiver, homemaker and friend.

“I’m excited to welcome our new team members and residents as The Cottages represent a new day for honoring our older adults here in Pella,” says Nancy. “The Cottages is setting the gold standard in delivering long-term nursing services in a home not only in Pella, but nationwide.”

“We’re proud to recognize Nancy’s leadership talent along with her passion for teaching team members, residents and their families. We are honoring her years of experience and passion for serving older adults by appointing her to this position,” says Nancy Hamilton, Hearthstone Executive Director.

Possessing more than 30 years of nursing experience, Nancy been part of the WesleyLife team since 2010. She is a Certified Dementia Practitioner and currently co-leads the Alzheimer’s Support Group in Pella. She resides outside of Peoria with her husband– together, they have four grown children.
