Local MOMS Club® continues to grow, help out

(Continued)

“There are times when the group has pulled together and donated mother and baby supplies to families in need,” Kohlhaas added. “Within the club, we have a couple of activities just for the ladies of the group. The organization of the club comes from those members that make up the Executive Board. The club recently started a Book Club. In March they will compete in a Fitness Mileage competition for three months. There also is a Party Planning Committee and a Service Project Committee.”

The MOMS Club of Pella Area covers at-home moms in all of Mahaska and Marion counties. The members of the club range from full-time stay-at-home moms to part-time moms who also work or go to school.

“Teachers who stay at home during the summer months with their kids are also welcome to check out the group” Kohlhaas said. “Even if your kids are all in school or you are expecting your first kid, if you stay at home during the day and would like support and activites to keep you busy, this could be the group for you.”

Kohlhaas admits the group is both fun and very rewarding.

“Our club is just a fantastic group of ladies that love to have a good time when we are together,” Kohlhaas said. “We can gain advice from one another, share frustrations, and bring new ideas to the group for activities. I love that some of my daughter and son’s best friends are part of the MOMS Club. They are always excited to go to MOMS events. “

Upcoming events for The MOMS Club of Pella Area include their MOMS Night Out at the Art Center on Feburary 28 and their Third Annual Easter Egg Hunt in April.
