February 6 Pella Christian Grade School Spanish Immersion Community Information Meeting

Come for an informational meeting for all Spanish Immersion prospective families. At 7 pm, Pella Christian Grade School.





February 6-20 Beginning Genealogy Workshops

If you are interested in genealogy research, but don't know where to start, here's your chance. Workshops for absolute beginners will be offered on Thursday evenings at 7 pm in February. It is preferred, but not required, that you bring your own laptop or other wireless device. Free and open to the public ages 12 and older. Questions? February 6 Jazzmania XXXV at Central College

Featuring local high school jazz bands, the Central College Jazz Band and special guest artist Ronald Carter on Saxophone. Under the direction of Gabriel Espinosa. 7:30 pm at Douwstra Auditorium. Free.





February 7 Tassel Ridge Winery presents Wine and Burger Night

It's off to the Aegean Sea! Tonight's burger is Chef Heather's Greek Isles Burger made with Capers, Kalamata Olives, and Feta Cheese topped with Hummus served on a Whole Wheat Bun with a side of Greek Orzo Pasta Salad and a glass of your favorite Tassel Ridge wine (we recommend Tassel Ridge In the Dark). For dessert, indulge in a trio of Tassel Ridge Finalé Bonbons made by Chocolaterie Stam especially for Tassel Ridge Winery with Tassel Ridge Finalé Dessert Wines. February 8-9 Tassel Ridge Winery presents Wine & Chocolate Pairing

Celebrate Valentine's Month with a Wine & Chocolate Pairing at Tassel Ridge Winery. Tassel Ridge Winery has paired four Tassel Ridge wines with four different chocolates from Chocolaterie Stam. Taste all four and find your favorite(s)! From 10 am to 6 pm Saturday and 12 to 6 pm Sunday. Cost is $10 per person, plus tax-Harvest Club Member & 1 Guest: $5 per person, plus tax.





February 8 Union Street Players Auditions for "Ham Buns & Potato Salad"

Auditions for Union Street Players' "Ham Buns & Potato Salad" will be held February 2, 6pm - 8pm, and February 8, 10am - noon, at the Pella Community Center. Roles are available for 5 adult men, 4 adult women and one girl 11-12 years old. "Ham Buns & Potato Salad" is a full length comedy in two acts written by local playwright, Tom Vander Well. Direction by Ann Wilkinson. No experience is necessary. No roles are pre-cast. You may read a full description of the show or download a perusal script in PDF form at www.unionstreetplayers.com. February 8 Serve Our Youth's Family Fun Day

Serve Our Youth Network would like to invite you and your family to the Annual Family Fun Day from 10am-2pm at the Vermeer Global Pavilion. We will have inflatables, games and lunch for all. Free, although freewill donations are appreciated. Sponsored by local businesses.



   

February 8 Pella Christian High Shine Drill Team Spring Show

Enjoy performances by the Shine Drill Team, special guests and workshop participants. At 7 pm, Pella Christian High School gym, 300 Eagle Lane. Admission is $5 adults, $3 students, and includes free popcorn.





February 11 Pella Community Art Center presents Hors d'oeuvres and Art: Ceramic Flower Vases

Enjoy this special adult art class creating ceramic flower vases! From 7-9 pm at the Community Center, all materials provided in $20 fee. Minimum 5 people, maximum 15 people so register today by stopping by the Community Services office, 712 Union Street, or call 628-4571 with questions.




February 12 Grace Fellowship Church's Valentine Spaghetti Dinner

Enjoy a Valentine's Spaghetti Dinner with all of your loved ones! Youth Group will be serving spaghetti, salad bar and dessert at 6 pm, Grace Fellowship Church. Nursery provided for children under age 3. Call 641-628-1885 to reserve your tickets. Free-will donations accepted but not expected.





February 13 High School Singfest Concert

Hear the combined talents of several local schools and Central College's A Cappella Choir. 7 pm in Douwstra Auditorium. Free and open to the public.





February 13 Pella Professional and Business Women's Forum

This month features Sinikka Waugh presenting "Finding Your Leadership Voice", where she will share tips and tools to influence others from any seat, any role, any organization or any community. The forum will be held at the Pella Golf and Country Club, 600 Elm Street from noon-1pm. Lunch is provided and the cost is covered in the $12 guest fee. Visitors are welcome- if you would like to attend, please RSVP to Diane Massick at diane@ewingdevelopment.com by Tuesday, February 11. PPBWF is a networking and professional development organization for women in Pella and the surrounding area, and membership is open to career-oriented and business women of all ages.

February 14 Valentines Day Concert with the Ahn Trio

Enjoy wine, cheese and chocolate with some wonderful music at 7:30 pm at Central College's Upper Chapel. Born in Seoul, Korea and educated at Julliard, the members of the Ahn Trio- sisters Maria, Lucia and Angella- are redefining the art and architecture of chamber music, breathing new life into the standard piano trio literature with commissioned works from visionary composers. The trio's latest CD, Lullabye For My Favorite Insomniac, made No.8 on the Billboard charts in the US.
