Pella — For 50 years, Mary Kay has made a name for itself as a top beauty brand. What better way for Mary Kay to celebrate its 50th anniversary than to hold a global makeover event? On March 8, also International Women's Day, Pella Mary Kay Independent business owners participated in making a world record for the most number of makeovers in 24 hours. Among the local business owners were Charity Faber, Pam Van Gorp, and Stephanie Vos. This global event was held simultaneously in New York, Los Angeles, Dallas' Global Headquarters for Mary Kay, and in more than 20 countries worldwide!

Local women from the Pella area were aided by the Mary Kay professionals in achieving a fresh and beautiful face with the use of Mary Kay's irresistible products. With their new look, participants have the option of entering the Mary Kay Global Makeover Contest, launched on the same day. Photographer Melissa Stuit took the before and after photos for the participating women in Pella's makeover event. While the girls were being made up, the global event could be seen streaming live from its kick off in New York, uniting all of the Mary Kay company.

Fifty participants who enter their makeover in the contest will have the opportunity to win a $5000 donation to their favorite charity benefitting women and children in their communities. May 10, marks the deadline for entries in this enormous makeover event. For more information on the contest or on Mary Kay's beauty line, visit www.marykay.com.
