Bigaouette named Sheriff's Lieutenant

Marion County — Marion County Sheriff Jason Sandholdt just announced that Deputy Brian Bigaouette has been promoted to the rank of Lieutenant within the department. 

Sandholdt's announcement is printed below:

Everyone,
 
After completing the testing and interview process for promotion, we have chosen our new Lieutenant for the Marion Co Sheriff’s Office.  Please join me in congratulating Deputy Brian Bigaouette, who will begin his duty as Lieutenant on July 15.    Brian was chosen after careful consideration from a pool of highly qualified candidates.
 
Brian began his career with the Marion Co. Sheriff’s Office as a Sheriff’s Reserve Officer in 1996.  In 1999, Brian was hired as a full-time Marion Co. Deputy.
 
During Brian’s career, he has had extensive training in several areas.  He currently oversees the Governor’s Traffic & Safety Bureau program for the Marion Co Sheriff’s Office.  Brian also has specialized training in, and serves as a Drug Recognition Expert for our office.  Brian also has training numerous areas, including but not limited to, Advanced Reid Interrogation, Thermography, Highway Drug Investigations, and FEMA.  Brian is also a certified Rapid Response to Active Shooter Instructor as well as a certified Taser Instructor.
