Area art show scheduled

Pella — This is a Primo opportunity to watch the featured talent of Svetlana Van Wyk as she swirls paints in a live demonstration. Van Wijk Winery is the official Art Gallery for Svetlana’s collection. Enjoy award winning art displays, hor d'oeuvres, Van Wijk Wine and specialty coffees and teas in a friendly atmosphere as Svetlana demonstrates her passion for paint.

“We are excited to set up this meet and greet to help everyone get to know Svetlana better.  Once you can connect the artist’s personality with their work it just makes their story come alive.”- Rebecca Van Wyk

On November 2, 2013 from 1pm to 6pm Van Wijk Winery will host an art show honoring Svetlana’s accomplishments. The portrait of Svetlana’s daughter Anastasia in ‘Daydream’ won Best in Show at this years’ Iowa State Fair.  Svetlana was also merited for her ‘Always & Forever - In Memorium’ portrait of Grandpa and Grandma Van Wyk at the same time.

Seventeen pieces of art will be on display at this opening reception in the first public debut of Svetlana’s art collection.  ‘The Gift of Art’ show will continue through March 2 and will include special guest artists from the surrounding areas. Most of the pieces on display will be available for purchase.

Svetlana’s talents have been recognized as superior, and she will be sharing her passion for the arts with the public at this event.  At 2:00 pm there will be a drawing by each artist for lucky attendees to win a piece of their art (must be present to win).

Svetlana loves to paint portraits and draws inspiration from her favorite artists such as: John Singer Sargent and Claude Monet.

” I love people and painting them allows me to study faces and see their beauty.”-Svetlana

Svetlana is also available to do commissioned works of either reproductions or originals. Any commission set the day of the show will receive a 10% discount!  Check out http://www.vanwijkwinery.com/Art_Gallery for a sneak peek of her talent.

“My greatest accomplishment as an artist was painting a reproduction of a huge Renoir painting, which was roughly 9 ft by 6 ft.”-Svetlana
