Lake Red Rock Programs during Memorial Day Weekend

Pella —

There's always something happening at Lake Red Rock!  Check out these upcoming programs during Memorial Day Weekend:

Froggin Hike
Friday, May 24 at 9:00 p.m. - Meet in South Tailwater Recreation Area
Croaks, chirps, trills and burps....who's making all that noise?  Spring is a great time to enjoy the serenades of native frogs and toads.  Join a park ranger for an evening hike to one of Red Rock's wetlands to listen to the concert, identify some of their calls and maybe catch a glimpse of some of the musicians!

Let's Go Paddling!
Saturday, May 25 - 12:00 to 2:00 p.m. - Roberts Creek East Boat Ramp
Here's your chance to experience both canoeing and kayaking the same day!  Give one or both types of watercraft a try and see how much fun paddling can be! (Note:  You must be at least 10 years old to use kayaks.  Life jackets will be provided.)

Throughout the weekend, stop by the Red Rock Visitor Center to watch some great cartoons of Bobber the Water Safety Dog and his friends!  He'll show you some great ways to be safe around the water!
Please note that the Bird Banding program originally scheduled for May 25 has been cancelled.
Programs are free of charge and registration is not necessary.  Activities may be cancelled if raining.  For more information about summer programs, check out the Lake's website at www.lakeredrock.org or call the Corps of Engineers office at (641) 828-7522 or (641) 628-8690.
