The Pella Chronicle

---- — Pella Christian High School will be presenting their spring drama, Our Town, this Friday and Saturday, March 28 and 29, 2014. Both performances will begin at 7:00 pm in the Vermeer Auditorium at Pella Christian High School, 300 Eagle Lane.

Written by American playwright Thornton Wilder, Our Town, tells the story of an average town in the early twentieth century as depicted through everyday lives. Narrated by the Stage Managers, who welcome the audience to the fictional town of Grover’s Corners, New Hampshire in 1901, two neighboring families are introduced: the Gibbs family and the Webb family--including George and Emily who fall in love and marry. The message of each of the characters is the same: not to take life for granted but to appreciate every moment of every day.

Madison Thingstad and Nick Van Beek play Emily and George. The Stage Managers telling the story for the audience are being played by Jessi Vos and Jordan Breon.

Courtney Griggs and Jordan Vande Kamp play Dr. Gibbs and his wife with Jenna Van Der Pol and Joel Larson playing Editor Webb and his wife. Kara Zondervan will play Rebecca Gibbs and Beau Risley will play Wally Webb.

The drama includes a cast of 20 students and 12 technicians and crew members. Students in leadership positions include Cory Van Gilst (Student Director), Ryan Howey (Production Coordinator), Nathan Champlin (Lights), Jon Larson (Sound), Breanna Terpstra (Props), Leah Blankespoor (Costumes), Karyn Vander Wal (Box Office) and Cali Beyer (Makeup).

The production is being directed by Marlo Van Peursem with Tech direction by Daryl Van Zee.

Reserved Tickets for this weekend’s production of Our Town are on sale in the school office at $5 for Adults and $4 for students. Remaining seats will be sold at the door.
