Reservations now being accepted for The Cottages

Hearthstone, a Ministry of WesleyLife, is now accepting reservations for its newest community, The Cottages. Scheduled to welcome the first assisted living residents in early December, The Cottages will provide older adults a place to call home where they will enjoy both their independence and the benefits of being part of a close-knit community. Due to strong community support and need, limited openings are available.

The first community of its kind in Iowa, it will consist of six individual cottages:

-An Assisted Living cottage with 21 apartments

-An Assisted Living Memory Support cottage with 16 suites

-A Nursing Memory Care cottage with 16 suites

-Three Skilled Nursing cottages with a total of 48 suites

In all, more than 100 residents will call The Cottages home.

In additional to healthy and independent living for all residents, the community will offer unique programming for those who have mid- to late-stage memory loss, focusing on their abilities, possibilities and them as individuals.

“We encourage loved ones and caregivers in the community to reach out and get connected to learn more about the transformational health and well-being services offered in a home environment at The Cottages,” says Nancy Hamilton, Hearthstone Executive Director.

Small households will be emphasized in The Cottages to encourage social engagement and support the independence of residents as part of WesleyLife’s person-directed approach. This approach empowers older adults to enjoy life to the fullest by promoting healthy living, independence and dignity.

The six cottages will be filled with abundant natural light and have ample green space, including landscaped courtyards. Each cottage will have a cozy living room and family-style dining area, located around a welcoming hearth. The commons area will include a café, chapel and Connection Center open to residents and their families, as well as the community.
