ServSafe, the national certification program for food service employees, will be held in Knoxville on December 5 and 6, 2013. The class consists of two sessions, the first session is scheduled from 12:30 to 4:00 p.m. on the 5th and the second session is from 9:00 a.m. to 12 p.m. on the 6th. Testing for certification follows the 2nd session. The cost of the course is $150 and includes the class time, a manual, and the national certification exam. The class will be held at the Knoxville Hospital and Clinic, 1002 South Lincoln.
Anyone interested in preparing and serving safe food is welcome to attend. The course is required currently by some companies including restaurants, hospitals, schools, nursing homes, and assisted living facilities.
