Marching Dutch host band competition

The Pella Community High School Marching Dutch hosted its 4th annual marching band competition “The Marching Dutch Invitational” on Saturday, September 28, at the Pella High School Football Stadium. Seventeen area high school marching bands competed for top honors in four classes. The Marching Dutch also provided a special exhibition performance of their 2013 fall program “On Air”. Results for the 2013 Marching Dutch Invitational were:

Class 1A – 1st Place, North Mahaska

2nd Place, Don Bosco

Class 2A – 1st Place, Eddyville-Blakesburg-Fremont

2nd Place, Prairie City-Monroe

3rd Place, Cardinal

Class 3A – 1st Place, Oskaloosa

2nd Place, Bonderant-Farrar

3rd Place, Dallas Center-Grimes

4th Place, Ft. Madison

5th Place, Williamsburg

6th Place, South Tama

7th Place, North Polk

8th Place, Carlisle

Class 4A –1st Place, Ankeny

2nd Place, Newton

3rd Place, Marshalltown

4th Place, Des Moines Roosevelt

The Marching Dutch will be competing this Saturday, October 5, at the Urbandale Marching Invitational to be held at Urbandale High School. Their performance time is 7:33 p.m.
