Food For Fines during National Library Week

---- — During National Library Week (April 14-19) the Pella Public Library will accept non-perishable food items in exchange for overdue fines. One food item will equal $1 in fines; two food items equal $2, etc.; up to a one time maximum of $5. Food items donated will be given to the Food Shelf. Dig into your cupboard to help those in need!

Please bring only non-perishable canned goods and packaged items. Some acceptable non-perishable food items include: cereal, tuna, rice, beans, soups, canned meats, canned juices, peanut butter, and any canned fruits or vegetables. All donated items must be in their original containers, unopened, undamaged, and not expired according to the package expiration date. Please bring all food donations to the Circulation Desk during library operating hours.

Food donations are in lieu of overdue fines only. They cannot be used to clear fees for lost or damaged materials, printing, Interlibrary Loan, or other charges. Accounts that have been sent to Collections are not eligible to participate.
