Hearthstone names Pella resident as Assisted Living Director at The Cottages

Hearthstone, a Ministry of WesleyLife is excited to announce Jennifer West, RN, Certified Assisted Living Manager; as the Director of Assisted Living at The Cottages–an innovative health living community for older adults which is set to welcome its first residents in early December.

In her position, West will work closely with residents and families to identify, meet and maintain their optimal level of independence. With an emphasis on education and health monitoring, residents will join collaboratively with West and her team to create a plan for healthy and independent living. In addition to leading the assisted living program, West will lead the unique memory support programming offered within the assisted living cottage, Zeeland.

“The Cottages will be a completely new experience to the Pella community by delivering person-centered care to residents. We are transitioning away from the traditional ‘clinical’ model to a true home experience,” says Jen. “My goal is to create an environment where residents will ultimately feel fulfilled. I would like for The cottages to be synonymous with home for each and every one of them.”

“We’re excited to recognize Jen’s talents and passion for older adults and appoint her to this leadership position,” says Nancy Hamilton, Hearthstone Executive Director. “The assisted living and assisted living memory support programs within The Cottages represent a whole new day for older adults here in Pella, a culture and vision Jen embraces.”

Possessing more than seven years of nursing experience, Jen has been part of the WesleyLife team member since 2011. She currently resides in Pella with her husband Aaron and two daughters, Olivia and Claire.

The Cottages currently has limited openings. To learn more about the healthy living services that will be provided at the innovative community, please call Dot at 780-0488 or visit wesleylife.org/thecottages
