February 13 High School Singfest Concert

Hear the combined talents of several local schools and Central College's A Cappella Choir. 7 pm in Douwstra Auditorium. Free and open to the public.

February 14-15 The Art of Marriage Seminar

Looking for a special way to spend Valentine's weekend and strengthen your marriage? You are invited to join others at "The Art of Marriage", a video-based event from 7-9:30 pm Friday and 9am-4pm Saturday. Event will be held at Trinity Reformed Church, 407 Franklin Street. February 14 Valentines Day Concert with the Ahn Trio

Enjoy wine, cheese and chocolate with some wonderful music at 7:30 pm at Central College's Upper Chapel. Born in Seoul, Korea and educated at Julliard, the members of the Ahn Trio- sisters Maria, Lucia and Angella- are redefining the art and architecture of chamber music, breathing new life into the standard piano trio literature with commissioned works from visionary composers. The trio's latest CD, Lullabye For My Favorite Insomniac, made No.8 on the Billboard charts in the US. Free.

February 15-16 Lake Red Rock Presents Wintertime Crafts

Attention crafty people of all ages! Use your creative skills to make some wintertime crafts! Different craft options will be available for artists of all ages. The activity is informal - meet at the Red Rock Visitor's Center anytime either day from 1-3pm. Crafting can be messy - please wear old clothes! Free, no reservations needed. February 17-21 Pella Community Schools Preschool Registration

Registration for the Pella Community Preschool program opens February 17-21. Register online at http://www.pellaschools.org/preschool-signup. You may also call the Madison Elementary office, 641-628-4638, on February 18 and 20 between 3-7 pm to register. There is a $50 registration fee due within two weeks of registration. Your child must be four but not five years of age prior to September 15, 2014.





February 18 Pella Aquatic Center Lifeguard Class Begins

Registration for the second lifeguard class of the year is going on now! Class dates are February 18, 20, 22 and 25; weekday classes are from 6-8 pm, Saturday class is from 9 am -1 pm.  Cost is $130. February 19 Faith CRC Pulled Pork Supper Fundraiser

Faith Christian Reformed Project Serve would like to invite you to their annual Pulled Pork Supper serving from 5-7 PM. The menu includes pulled pork sandwiches, cheesy potatoes, green beans, and a variety of homemade desserts. Free will offering will be used to support in-country and out-of-country mission trips. February 22 Lake Red Rock presents Winter's Wonders Snowshoe Hike

Getting cabin fever yet?  Strap on a pair of snowshoes and get outside!  Join a quest for winter wildlife and the signs they leave behind.  Search for animal tracks, birds foraging for food,  mouse tunnels, and other wildlife activity.  After the walk, meet back at the picnic shelter for cocoa by the fireplace!  Snowshoes will be available for checkout free of charge - wear snow boots for the best fit.  The walk will last about an hour.  If there is not enough snow for snowshoeing, a "snowshoeless" winter hike will be scheduled. February 22 Kevin Kling is Breakin' Hearts and Takin' Names

Theatre Central is proud to present renowned storyteller, playwright and author Kevin Kling for a glimpse into his "wonderful world of the skewed and significant mundane." Best known for his popular commentaries on National Public Radio's All Things Considered, Kling's autobiographical tales are as enchanting as they are true to life. Program starts at 7:30 pm in the Kruidenier Theatre. Tickets may be purchased at the Info booth in the Central College Maytag Center 641.628.9000 or at the door on the evening of performance. Tickets are $7.00 for adults, $5.00 for students and children and free with a Central ID.
