Knoxville — The Marion County Board of Supervisors opened three sealed bids this morning for the courthouse clock tower project.

The project includes the replacement of worn bricks and mortar, and replacing the crumbling floor. Three bids were received and were as follows:

• Larson and Larson: $237,612

• Renaissance Restoration: $209,999

• Koester: $178,116

Each bidder included a bid bond of 5 percent of their total bid. Maintenance Director Cal Stephens said that the board should take time to examine the bids and decide whether or not they want to proceed with the project.

No further action was taken at the meeting beyond opening the bids.
