Hmong Craft presentation Saturday

Mai V. Yang of Pella holds two samples of her Hmong needlework. Her needlework, along with work of other Hmong artists, will be featured in a presentation at Pella Public Library Meeting Room on Saturday, November 2, at 10:30 a.m. Many pieces of Hmong needlework tell the story of their flight from Laos, living in refugee camps, and finding homes in other countries. Before and after the presentation, the artifacts will be on display, and visitors can view them and ask questions of the crafters who created them. Plans for the event include exhibits of costumes, needlework, musical instruments and handmade toys.
