Enjoy lake, stay safe on water

As the Fourth of July weekend and hot summer months approach, take some time to enjoy the recreation opportunities available at Lake Red Rock. The Corps of Engineers would like to remind you to be safe around the water as you head out to lake. No matter what you have planned - boating, sailing, swimming, or fishing - remember to wear a life jacket every time. Accidents happen much too quickly to reach and put on a stowed life jacket. Life jackets can save lives but they only work if you wear them, so put them on before leaving shore. Life jackets now come in a wide variety of colors, shapes, and sizes, so all of your family and friends should be able to find a style they like that also fits them properly. While boating, be aware of other boaters, and remember that boating and drinking don't mix. Know your limitations, wear a life jacket, and always swim with a buddy. Have a safe, fun summer!
