Carter charged with arson

Knoxville — Nicholas Wade Carter, 18, has been charged with second-degree arson in connection with Monday's fire at 110 Robinson in Knoxville. Carter was arrested around 12 a.m. Saturday morning. He is out on $10, 000 bond. Marion County Sheriff Jason Sandholdt said the matter is still under investigation. More charges are pending. Sandholdt credited Lt. Justin Kingery, the county's fire investigator, for the many hours Kingery has spent on the investigation thus far. The Knoxville Fire Department reached out for assistance in the investigation. No accelerants were used in the fire. We will bring you more information as it becomes available.
