Pella's Got Talent finalists to compete on May 10

Featuring all local talent! In late April over twenty local singers, dancers, actors, and instrumentalists participated in the first annual “Pella’s Got Talent” auditions. A panel of eight judges consisting of local performing artists and performance arts teachers reviewed all contestants. Ten finalists were announced this week.

Chandra Clark, Tyler Coleman, Bev Graves, Bellara Huang, Ridge McGinley, Rachel Mueller, Noel Murray & Alan Pfadenhauer, Brynn Vander Beek, Kayla Weis, and lastly, Corbin Westerkamp will perform for the public and compete for cash prizes on Saturday, May 10, at 7 p.m. at the Pella Opera House. Ticket price: $15. This production is made possible, in part, through the generous support of Van Gorp Insurors, Ltd.

The Pella Opera House was built in 1900 and, following a massive community renovation effort in the late 1980’s, reopened in 1990. It is on the National Register of Historic Places, and presents programs in the fine and performing arts. It is a core asset of the Pella community and tourists frequently visit it from all points in Iowa and beyond. The Pella Opera House is home to a fully restored, authentic 1925 Barton Theatre Organ, and the ground floor Great Hall hosts many events for local businesses, philanthropic organizations and individuals.
