November 22 Happy Thanksgiving! 




November 22 Free Thanksgiving Dinner

Home alone for Thanksgiving? Join us for a FREE Thanksgiving meal. Call the Church office for more information or to make reservations at 641-628-3493. Reservations are appreciated, but not required to attend. Transportation can be provided if needed. At First Reformed Church, 605 Broadway, from 11 am to 1 pm. Happy Thanksgiving!





November 24 Small Business Saturday

Check out all of your favorite local business' deals on Small Business Saturday! Drawings will be held for 30 great prizes, look for your "Bingo" card in the November Chamber Nieuwsbrief in the Town Crier or download online at www.pella.org ("the latest", then "November") after November 1.





November 24 Pella Lions Club Community Breakfast

Pella Lions fundraiser to benefit the Pella Boy Scouts, Pella Food Shelf, and Iowa Kids Sight. 6:30- 10:30 am at the Pella Memorial Building, free will offering accepted.





November 24 Celebrate with Sinterklaas

The Dutch "Santa" arrives in Pella on Saturday, November 24.  The Volks parade forms at the Historical Village and marches to the Tulip Toren for a brief welcome.  For information on the Sinterklaas Breakfast & Party call 641-628-2409.  Limited tickets @ $10.00 each. Starts at 10 am.






November 25 Pella Opera House presents David Folkerts and Friends

Kick off the holiday season with an annual Opera House tradition hearing the Mighty Barton- Iowa's best restored theatre organ-as well as other vocalists, instrumentalists, and YOU singing along to many Yuletide favorites! Concerts at 3 pm and 7 pm. Ticket price: $10 adults, $5 students.









ONGOING EVENTS:

Now- November 15 Scholte House Presents Civil War Exhibit

Come learn about Marion County's Civil War history! 10 regiments from the Marion County area are featured, along with the connection between Abraham Lincoln and Pella's founder Dominie Scholte. Also discussed is women's role in the war, the Andersonville Prison, the Rutman brothers, as well as an interactive children's room, children's essays and memorabilia. The exhibit is running September 15 through November 15. Admission is FREE thanks to a grant from the Pella Community Foundation. Regular hours are 1-4 pm Monday-Friday, with extended hours til 8 pm on Thursdays. Saturday extended hours are 10 am-5pm.



November 12- December 14 Central College's Mills Gallery Exhibit

Husband and wife duo Dukno Yoon and Heather Bayless will exhibit their works in the Mills Gallery from November 12 - December 14. The couple works with metal structures. Their work can be seen during gallery hours, Monday through Friday, 9 am to 5 pm. The exhibit is free and open to the public.



November 16- December 1 Festival of Trees: Its a Wonderful Life

Warm up amid the twinkling displays, available for purchase, that transform the Pella Opera House into a merry holiday wonderland! An annual fundraiser for children's theatre programming. Ticket price is a free-will donation. Schedule: November 16- December 1 from 10 am to 6 pm. November 16, Opening Night: Open until 8 pm. November 19, Family Night: Open until 8 pm. December 1: Open until 2 pm. Closed Sundays and Thanksgiving Day. 





Nov 23-Dec 22 Extra Holiday Shopping Hours! 

Thursdays & Fridays open till 7 pm; Saturdays till 4 pm. Will also feature strolling music and entertainment on some weekend hours.
