Deadline to run for city council approaches

Pella — City elections in Iowa are held in odd-numbered years. This November in Pella, three Councilmember seats are up for election--Ward 1, Ward 3, and At-Large. If you are interested in running for office, the candidate filing period is from Monday, August 26 through Thursday, September 19, 2013. Elected City officials serve four-year terms. Each candidate must complete and submit an affidavit of candidacy along with nomination papers signed by at least 25 eligible electors. City Election Packets are now available at City Hall.
