Knoxville — The Marion County Board of Supervisors has been busy interviewing candidates to take over as Marion County Engineer, and according to Chairman Jim Kingery, the board will consider making an offer.
Kingery said they are "looking at an individual" and a background check is being performed on that person. He was unsure of how long the background check will take.
The board began its search for a county engineer after the man who currently holds that position, Roger Schletzbaum, announced his retirement intentions. Schletzbaum will be done at the end of the calendar year.
The supervisors will meet in closed session Friday morning, Oct. 25, at 11 a.m. to discuss possible contract terms and whether or not to make an offer.
