Tax collections "steady"

Pella — With the Oct. 1 deadline looming to have one's property taxes paid in Marion County, Treasurer Denise Emal said the collections have steadily come in. 

Taxpayers have an extra day to get their payments in because Sept. 30 falls on a Sunday. Taxes can be paid Monday, Oct. 1, without penalty. Payments postmarked by Oct. 1 will also be accepted without penalty.
