Braley Talks Local Economic Issues with Pella Business and City Leaders

The Pella Chronicle

---- — Congressman, chamber focus on strong Marion County economy and the importance of manufacturing with local leaders

Rep. Bruce Braley (IA-01) met with Pella business and city leaders to discuss local manufacturing, efforts to construct a regional airport, and improving access to Pella Regional Health Center for Medicare patients.

“Pella’s manufacturing sector is booming and filled with the types of good-paying jobs that we need more of around the country,” Braley said. “It’s always good to hear straight from community leaders about what policies are working—I hope more communities are able to follow Pella’s lead.”

Braley has repeatedly advocated for Iowa’s small business community and manufacturing sector. Last March, he introduced the Rebuild American Manufacturing Act, which would create a National Manufacturing Strategy aimed at spurring job growth, making American manufacturing more competitive, and rebuilding the manufacturing sector—all of which are critical to continuing our nation’s economic recovery. Last year, Braley also introduced the Support our Startups Act, which would expand a tax credit for small business startup expenses.
