Pella selected for special launch

Pella has been chosen to host the 2013 Great Plains Super Launch. The Great Plains Super Launch is the premier conference for near space explorers and enthusiasts dedicated to the education and study of aerospace science via Amateur Radio High Altitude Ballooning.

The climax of this year’s conference will take place on Saturday, June 15 when 8 high altitude balloons will be launched, starting at 8 a.m. This will take place just North of the Vermeer Global Pavilion at Vermeer Manufacturing, in Pella, Iowa. Maps are attached.

Participants will be attending from several states and one participant is flying in from the UK.
