Pella — Iowa Secretary of State Matt Schultz visited the Marion County Republicans during their meeting on Monday night at Knoxville's National Sprint Car Hall of Fame.
Prior to the meeting Schultz shared his thoughts on a couple programs he is very excited about.
"One is Rock Iowa," he said. "It's a program that encourages voting to high school students who are old enough to vote. It's a first of its kind in the country and it involves a mock election. But only half of the student get to vote. We want to show students the impact of each of their votes and also the impact of not voting. They realize that if the other half of the class would of voted, the results might of changed. Our goal is to educate Seniors about Iowa's Election process and the importance of voting and exercising that right."
