Time remains to protest valuations

Knoxville —

Property owners still have an opportunity to protest the new 2013 assessed values to the Board of Review. Protests should include your estimate of fair market value.

A written protest must be submitted by the end of the day of May 6 for the Board of Review to consider any adjustment. Any petitions mailed must be postmarked no later than May 6.

Petitions are available at: http://www.iowa.gov/tax/forms/56064.pdf.

The Marion County Board of Review has also established some rules of procedure. These are available at:  http://http://co.marion.ia.us/offices/assessor/forms/2013_BOR_RulesOfProcedure.pdf
