Search warrant executed in Otley

Pella —

On May 6 2013 at approximately 10 a.m. members of the Mid-Iowa Narcotics Enforcement Task Force along with the Iowa Department of Public Safety Division of Narcotics Enforcement executed a drug search warrant at 171 Terrace Drive in rural Otley where illegal drugs and drug paraphernalia were seized.

As a result of the search warrant a formal complaint has been made with the Marion County Juvenile Court Services charging a 16 year old male with multiple drug charges. The 16 year old is currently being charged with possession with intent to deliver scheduled I controlled substance MDMA (Class B Felony), failure to affix a drug tax stamp (Class D Felony), possession of a schedule III controlled substance hydrocodone (Serious Misdemeanor), possession of marijuana (Serious Misdemeanor), and possession of drug paraphernalia (Simple Misdemeanor).

MDMA (methylenedioxymethaphetamine) is a pure powder form of Ecstasy which is a psychedelic amphetamine that has gained popularity recently because of its ability to produce strong feelings of comfort, empathy, and connection to others.

The Mid-Iowa Narcotics Enforcement Task Force is based in Des Moines and currently has 16 central Iowa agencies participating in the task force including the Jasper and Marion County Sheriff’s Offices, Knoxville, Newton, and Pella Police Departments, and the Iowa Department of Public Safety Division of Narcotics Enforcement.
