Prickett makes tough choice, excited to call Pella home

Some of those issues, Prickett didn’t want his family to be troubled with he said.

“January 2 was my first day and I have been busy since,” he said “I work and I go home. But my favorite thing to do outside of work is spend time with my family.”

Prickett said his wife and son are still in Colorado and will be there until their house sells.

“That’s been tough too,” he said. “So it’s really hard being away from them. But I hope to get a feel for the community and get involved.”

Pickett admits each location he as worked at has been a little different.

‘In Colorado Spring we were more of a ‘niche’ store, where here in Pella we are everything to everyone,” he said. “Wayne did a wonderful job here and I want to keep that going and improve it if I can. That’s always the goal. I want to put a few of my own twists on it too.”

Prickett is excited about opportunities here in Pella, even though it was tough to leave Colorado.

“It’s a busy job - six days a week,” he said. “I want to get settled in the community and start learning what people do and how Pella works. I am interested to seeing Tulip Time, Thursdays in Pella and Lake Red Rock.”
