December 12-14 Festive Whimsy and Fine Art

This is the 2nd Annual Holiday Event! Come enjoy the sights, sounds and tastes of the season while shopping for the perfect gift of art by local artists. This showcase will be held in Strawtown Shoppes, 1109 Washington Street. Parking is located off the alley behind Strawtown Inn. December 12-13 Leighton State Bank's Holiday Open House

Join us for a holiday open house from 9 am - 4 pm Thursday and Friday at 700 Main Street. Refreshments will be served.

December 12 New Resident Event: Cocoa and Cookies at the Vermeer Windmill

NEW PELLA RESIDENTS: It is cold outside! Positively Pella, a new resident service, invites you to warm up at the Vermeer Windmill with free hot cocoa, cookies and punch from 5:30 - 7:30 pm. While you are here, enjoy complimentary tours of the windmill and get to know others who have moved to Pella recently! Stop in briefly or stay as long as you like, children are welcome. Tours last approximately half an hour. Anyone who has moved to Pella within the last year or two is welcome to attend. Please RSVP to or 641-628-2626. Hope to see you there!

December 13-14 Third Reformed Church presents Journey to Bethlehem

A Journey to Bethlehem - All ages will enjoy this unique chance to experience the Nativity brought to life at Third Church in Pella. Tours are 45 minutes. Light refreshments and children's activities are available. Come enjoy the journey Friday December 13, 6-8:30 pm or Saturday, December 14 from 5-8 pm. Free to attend.

December 13-14 Central College Christmas Candlelight Concerts    

Come celebrate with Central College and the rest of the community the joyous season. You will enjoy listening to the Kerstbellen Handbell Choir, Chamber Singers, the College Community Orchestra, and The A Cappella Choir. There will be a dinner at 6:30 pm each evening before the concert to support the A Cappella Choir tour to Boston next year (in Graham Banquet Room, $15 except seniors $13). Concerts held in Douwstra Auditorium, 8pm each evening. Admission is $10 for adults, $8 for senior citizens and students, and free with Central ID.

Stop by US Bank for their Holiday Open House! Hours are 9 am - 4:30 pm at their location at 801 Broadway Street.

December 13 Davis Folkerts' Concert at Second Reformed Church

Enjoy Davis Folkerts in concert at Second Reformed Church. Concert starts at 12:05 pm. Free and open to the public.

December 13 Book Signing at The Work Of Our Hands

Enjoy a book signing from 5-8 pm at The Work Of Our Hands! Lee Joanne Collins will be there to sign her book "Too Much Left Unsaid" and Kathryn Daugherty will be there to sign her book "A Case of Hearts". Wine tasting and hors d'oeuvres will be available. Remember, The Work of Our Hands is now located at 627 Franklin Street.

December 14 Tassel Ridge Winery presents Iowa Wine & Cheese Ideas for the Holidays

Cheese and wine are always on the menu at holiday parties. Winery Owner Bob Wersen has selected some great Iowa cheeses and paired them with the perfect Tassel Ridge wines so that the wine & cheese platter will become one of the stars on your menu instead of "just something that's always there!" From 3-5 pm at Tassel Ridge Winery. Advance prepaid, non-refundable reservations required by Thursday, December 12. December 16 Pella Community High School Vocal Concert

Enjoy some of your holiday favorites at Pella Community High School Auditorium at 7:30 pm. Featuring Concert Choirs, Select Choir and Madrigal Singers. Alumni and other community members are invited to join them in singing the "Hallelujah Chorus", rehearse this with them prior at 6 pm that evening.
